AusGroup Awarded Restart Order For Fortescue Metals Car Dumper

AusGroup Limited is pleased to announce the award of an AU$12 million contract from Metso Minerals (Australia) Limited (‘Metso’) for the construction of two Twin Cell Car Dumpers and two Positioners for Fortescue Metals Group.

AusGroup’s subsidiary, AGC Industries Pty Ltd (‘AGC’) was originally awarded the contract in April 2008; however the contract was suspended in November 2008 due to the global economic crisis. The items were then put into long term storage at AGC’s Fabrication & Manufacturing facility in Kwinana. The contract will be completed by 31st May 2012. This restart order adds to AGC’s existing car dumper contracts for Metso for BHP Billiton’s Finucane Island.

AusGroup’s Managing Director John Sheridan said “We are delighted to receive this order and continue our long term relationship with Metso. This order further highlights AGC’s capabilities as one of the leading fabricators of complex mining equipment within the Australian Mining Industry.”

With this new order the Group’s order book now stands at AU$230 million.
